Sear wandered out into the main clearing of the ranch. It was her first day being a part of the Gaia Ranch family, but she didn't want to seem like she was some sort of newbie.
The Delphox knew that everyone else that was in Tyson's care woke up early to explore whatever lie in store for them at the ranch. No, not Sear. She was not going to be caught wandering aimlessly around the area.
Sear sat down in the middle of the clearing and looked around for some nearby Pokemon. No, she was not going to look like a fool exploring and getting herself lost. She had the right to be escorted around the place.

So many new Pokemon...
Leo gazed around the ranch from near the entrance to his trainer's barn, the Gallade scrutinizing the newer creatures that had recently joined the ranch. There were a few milling about here and there, and one tall fox-like Pokemon sitting in the middle of the clearing. Leo caught the Fire-type's eye (at least, he presumed she was a Fire-type, if her color scheme was anything to go by), and nodded at her in greeting.
If she needed help with anything, the Gallade would be there in an instant.

Sear was sitting smack in the middle of the clearing. She itched to look around the Ranch, but she didn't want to do it alone. She wanted a companion to show around so that she didn't get herself lost and look like a fool.
The Delphox scanned the whole clearing. Who would be suitable enough to escort her around the ranch and show her the ropes?
It was at the moment her eyes locked with a Gallade. Sear had never met one of that kind of Pokemon before, but she had seen the type around. She smirked at the green giant and nodded her head motioning for him to come over.
Oh, and she threw a quick wink in there as well.

Leo blinked and glanced around when the fox-like Pokemon motioned for him to come over. He barely noticed the wink as he made certain that it was he she was motioning towards, and he made his way over to her.
"Good morning," the Gallade said once he was close enough to speak to the new Pokemon. "I am Leo the Gallade, one of Kristen's partners. May I ask your name...?"
He paused a moment before added, "Forgive me, but I also am not certain as to what species you are. I have never seen your kind before."

Sear stood up and placed one hand on her hip. She looked the Gallade up and down as though she were determining whether or not he would be suitable enough to escort her around the ranch. Finally, she shrugged realizing that this might be the best she would be able to do for now.
"Nice to meet you, Leo. My name is Sear. I'm on Tyson's team. You know Tyson, don't you? He's new here. We all are. I'm a Delphox. I'm from the region known as Kalos. Have you ever heard of it?" The Delphox looked Leo right in the eyes. She wanted to ask him some questions as she was unfamiliar with his species, as well. However, she wanted to seem like she knew everything.

Once she had introduced herself, Leo bowed in greeting. "Lovely to make your acquaintance, Sear," he said. "I have briefly seen Tyson, yes, when he first arrived to the ranch. Unfortunately, I've only heard of Kalos in passing when Kristen and Sapphire were speaking of it to each other. I am sure it's a beautiful region."
Leo himself had only visited areas around the Sinnoh region. Perhaps he would volunteer the next time his trainer needed to make an out-of-region trip.
"Is there anything I can do to help make your arrival more comfortable?" the Gallade asked.

Sear smirked when Leo bowed to her. She was most definitely going to like it here.
"Kalos is alright," she shrugged. "I'm sure it doesn't compare to where ever you're from. The rest of my team have explored at least two regions whereas I've only explored the one before coming here."
Sear looked down at the ground, took a deep breath, then glanced back at Leo once more. She smiled at him and nodded her head when he asked about making her arrival more comfortable.
"Actually..." she sighed. "I was wondering if you would be ever so kind enough to show me around this place. Pretty please?"

Leo gave Sear a crooked smile and gestured widely with his hands. "I'm from here," he said simply. "Born and raised just outside of this ranch. I joined Kristen's team not too long after Sapphire and she began building their home."
The Delphox smiled and nodded in return to Leo's question, and he granted her a polite smile in return. "Of course," he said. "Is there anywhere in particular you'd like to see? Or shall we just walk around?"

Sear nodded her head as Leo explained his life story to her. She was trying to figure out whether she was truly interested or not. Then again, it was nice that she was able to make a new friends so quickly.
The Delphox twisted her head this way and that as she looked at her surroundings. "Honestly, I have no idea. When Tyson told us that we were going to be living on a ranch, I didn't expect this. I didn't realize it was going to be so large. I don't even know where to begin."

"Perhaps we should start at the beginning," Leo said, and gestured for Sear to follow him. Leo took the Delphox over toward the entrance of the ranch where the gate swung open from the path in the Berry Forest.
"This path here leads to Solaceon Town," Leo said, "the closest city to us. Plenty of wild Pokemon live in Berry Forest, of course, and we actively patrol the area to be sure no trouble will come to the ranch from them."
He gazed around at the vast expanse of the ranch from the entrance gate, spying the many barns built here and there on the horizons, as well as the lake, the hills, the rocky beginning of Look-Out Point...
"Why not pick a direction and we'll start from there," Leo suggested to Sear.

Sear nodded her head when Leo motioned for her to follow and she obeyed. She daintily sauntered behind the Gallade. The Delphox nodded her head as though she was interested in the forest, but she wasn't too impressed.
"Are we allowed to go in there on our own?" Sear twirled her stick in one hand knowing she would most likely go there on her own regardless.
Sear didn't bother to look around the Ranch. She leaned in closer to Leo and smirked. "Let's start with your barn."

"Yes, I suppose we are," Leo answered in regards to the forest, "especially those of us who are experienced in battle. The young ones should not be out on their own, of course. You do not look like you would have a problem if you ran into some wild Pokemon."
The Gallade smiled as he spoke, but it faltered as he tilted his head in confusion at Sear's desire to see his barn. "If you'd like," Leo said slowly, taking a step back from the Delphox as he prepared to lead her to the barn. "Perhaps some of my teammates will be in there for you to meet."

Sear dully nodded her head at the forest. Of course she would have been fine on her own if she were to run into any wild Pokemon in the forest. One wave of her stick and they would faint in a flash.
She smiled half-heartedly at Leo when he mentioned his teammates. "Sure. Let's go meet your teammates."

Once more, the pair went across the main field to return to the area that they had started in. Leo was still a bit confused at Sear's idea to see his trainer's barn, but the Gallade guessed that the Delphox wished to meet more Pokemon.
Leo opened the front door of the barn, allowing a few weak rays of the winter sun to trickle in. "There were only a few others in here before we introduced ourselves to each other," the Gallade said. Peering up toward the rafters, he added, "I'm not surprised that Fang has not moved."
Snoozing away near the ceiling was a Crobat, hanging sideways to one of the rafter beams as he snored softly. Leo's mouth twitched in a half-smile, and he gestured to Sear to follow him further into the barn. "Do you have many others that share your barn?"

Sear was completely bored by the barn all the sudden. She wanted to see Leo's barn because she wanted to be alone with him. Why was it so difficult for him to understand that?
She shook her head slightly at the Crobat snoozing the day away. Yet, considering his type she wasn't all that surprised.
"I share my barn with five other Fire-type Pokemon. They're all males." she pointed out bluntly.
