A large Serperior slithered around the barn occasionally bumping into a wall or stable. It would give a frustrated sigh before raising it's head higher and continuing on its mission. Monty was having a rough time, if one couldn't already tell. He hadn't even spent one night in the barn and he was already lost. The large Pokémon could've sworn he heard a dish being filled or something!
With a loud hiss Monty managed to fall face first on someone's bedding. He picked himself up quickly only to trip over another trough or table. Due to his blindness, the Serperior felt much more comfortable in an open field where there were less obstacles. Who's idea was it to put him in such a place? Monty growled, a angry "Serrrrr!" resonating through the empty barns. Between that and his growling stomach, the barn want very silent anymore. This was going to be harder than he thought.

FireStorm seemed to be rushing about the ranch today, it seemed like there was all sorts of stuff going on, certainly more than enough to keep him busy however. In the process of sprinting to his next destination, his sensitive ears picked up a crash and all sorts of racket. "What in the world?" He muttered to himself, skidding to a stop and trotting towards the barn, with a slight hint of concern. "Hello?" The Arcanine called out, tilting his head until he quickly established a glance at the pokemon that seemed to be having trouble. "A Ser-Serperior?" The Fire pokemon whispered to himself. "Is everything alright?" FireStorm said lowly, moving slowly into the structure. "I heard a crash..."

Monty was just taking a small griping break when he heard the call of another Pokémon. "Jusssst perfect." The Serperior hissed and faced the direction of the voice. His scarred eyes blinked irritated as he straightened himself out, rising to a towering height. "Everything wassss simply peachy," Monty spoke, distain dripping from his words. "You heard correctly, however, it is none of your bussssinesssss."

The Arcanine could hear the venom of sarcasm dripping from the Serperior's voice and took a step back, pinning his ears back in a bit of hurt. FireStorm watched the serpent rise up slightly and blinked in confusion. "Look, I apologize if I disturbed you or something, but I just wanted to make sure you were alright..." He said lowly, taking a small step towards the Serperior, looking over the seemingly frustrated pokemon. "His eyes...they look all scratched up and he's struggling...is he..." The Arcanine pondered to himself, tilting his head slightly. "Well, I don't know about that, It may very well not be my business, but I hold concern about everyone on this Ranch, I can tell when someone's struggling, and I'm not hesitant to lend a paw..." He said lowly. "Now ease up just a bit alright?" The Fire type said lowly, approaching slowly.

Monty scoffed as the Pokémon expressed his concern. "Alright? I am perfectly capable, if not more, to attend to myssself" Sure the Serperior had been struggling, but he wasn't about to put his pride on the line for some food; a human would come by soon and help him without his asking. The foreign Pokémon's remark, however, darn near sent Montezuma off the edge.
"You dare intervene in my affairssss?" Monty advanced, his vine-like tail swishing menacingly behind him. "I am Montezuma, the great Ssserperior! I have won championssshipssss! What makesss a puny Pokémon, sssuch asssss yoursself, think him equal in my pressssence?"

"Ok, Alright...Sure, I see that you're OK now." FireStorm said with a small huff back to the Serperior. The Arcanine narrowed his eyes slightly as he continued to take Monty's words with a grain of salt. "That attitude of yours isn't going to win over many pokemon, you know that right?" FireStorm said with a chuckle. "Whoa, whoa... easy there! I'm not trying to intervene on anything! I just heard a crash and what sounded like a struggle, it just concerned me alright!" The fire type called back with a low growl, taking a defensive position when he witnessed the Serperior posture up. "Look, I'm not wanting to start anything, but I've taken on tougher opponents than you, I worked with the Rangers and helped take down organizations and evil people, so I'd chill out just a bit." FireStorm explained. "Why would you snap off at me? Just take it easy.""Sheesh, maybe I should have walked on by?" FireStorm thought to himself, tiptoeing around to change his position before Monty. "Let's just use our words here, there's no need to compare championships and stuff, I just wanted to know if you needed help.."

"Okay now?" How dare this puny Pokémon question him? He was capable, despite his blindness. Monty hissed before deciding to spare the creature a lecture. "Fortunately, I don't need to 'win over' the likesss of you. I prefer the much more tolerable company of humansss."
Monty huffed, turning to continue his search for the food. He'd only covered a few feet before he slammed his chest into the nearest stable. The Serperior growled with bared teeth before speaking loudly, addressing the growlithe. "Taken on tougher opponentsssss you sssay?!" Montezuma retained his composer as he sneered- "Sssshow me your ssscarsss then." The Serperior turned to face the Pokémon, lowering his head so his lifeless eyes were fully visible. "Sssurely a Pokémon who'sss assss 'powerful' assss you hassss ssssomething to sssshow for it."
Monty scoffed and rose, headed left this time. "Assss I've sssstated, I am perfectly capable of handling myssself. I'm sssimply trying to locate where the humansss hid the food."

FireStorm simply blinked and shook off the sharp tongued remarks from the Serperior, making sure he kept his distance, as it continuous seemed any remark or reply the Arcanine made just seemed to add fuel to the fire. "No, that's not what I meant, I mean...I like the company of humans too and I know how it is to be loyal to a human, but certainly you like to expand your horizons right?" He asked, tilting his head and continuing to watch Monty's movements carefully. The Arcanine simply watched and winced as he watched the serpent run into a stable. "Yeah, I really have!" FireStorm called out. "Why do you want to see the scars from a surgery I had? I still have struggles as I continually work to strengthen my leg in which I broke and tore tendons in during a mission to stop a bunch of smugglers." He muttered. "I had a big limp for a while..." "What happened to your eyes Montezuma?" The Arcanine asked, following with a deep breath. "You're looking for food?" FireStorm asked, watching as Monty slithered the other way this time. "I believe you are perfectly capable of taking care of yourself, I never said anything different, but where's the line when you stop being too proud of yourself to ask for some help, I mean we all have to sometime..." He explained. "I know I could help with this if you just asked."

"There'ssss no need for other horizonssss, thank you very much." Monty said this line with the utmost sas. He could tell the growlithe was simmering and becoming more adapted to his attitude, even if he didn't show it.
With his advanced hearing, the Serperior heard the Pokémon wince, earning him a glare if that were possible. He heard the growlithe out before smirking, speaking with distain- a small touch of sadness lurking within the words- "Ahhh but broken bonessss and torn tendonsss tend to heal. You don't ssseem to be limping anymore."
Monty was perfectly fine with ending their 'competition' there, seeing as he'd clearly won, but the growlithe's question stopped him in his tracks. "They've been rendered ussselessss. Sssee, I'm a champion. Campionsssss win battlesss while losssersss win jealousssy. Sssteven and I were often targeted, nothing I couldn't handle.... But one day, they fought dirty. I had no ssstrength left and they were relentlessss, but a Pokémon mussst protect their trainer. Ssso I did."
Monty seemed content with the bits and pieces of the story he told the growlithe so he turned and continued his work. "I don't need help! But if you would like to inform me as to where it's kept then I won't stop you.

FireStorm gave a small huff in response to Monty's statement. The Arcanine couldn't believe the attitude he was getting from the Serperior, all just from making sure the pokemon wasn't hurt. "I can't tell you how to live Montezuma, but the pokemon outnumber the humans here, you'll have to communicate sometime." FireStorm pointed out with a chuckle. The Arcanine froze as Monty glared at him, slightly spooking the Arcanine as he looked on at the pokemon maneuver about the barn. Monty's smirk made FireStorm gulp slightly as Montezuma explained that the Arcanine seemed to be healing and not limping anymore. "I suppose you're right, but it doesn't mean my pain is gone." He muttered. The fire type pokemon focused in on Monty's story and frowned in a bit of guilt for jumping to quick to judge the pokemon. "Useless, so your eyes? You're blind..." FireStorm said lowly, looking concerned with a shake of his head. "I get your drift, and I'm sorry things had to happen that way." He said, blinking in interest. Still willing to jump up to pull food out for the Serperior, FireStorm felt a bit hopeless as Monty snapped at him again, stating he wouldn't need his help for nothing but locating the food. "Fine...the locker at 7 o'clock from you, in the corner of the room, all of the barns have them, just watch the small table at 5 o'clock and the bedding to your left." FireStorm said clearly. "Are champions always this headstrong or are you a special case?" The Arcanine asked with a small grin.
